Just published a book on my great-grandfather, who was described in an academic journal as being "Not a typical or uncontroversial fundamentalist;" it ended up becoming the title of this little book.
He was a really interesting character: a fundamentalist (dispensationalist, no less) lay preacher, he was a major grain baron, multi-millionaire, and all around complex guy. He believed that the typical fundamentalist hang-ups over drinking and smoking were completely wrong-headed, and actually convinced more than a few of the iconic fundamentalist leaders to have a drink or three with him.
