…and the legions of Episcopalians gather!
For those of you who have never been to General Convention, it's quite a trip. Many decisions are made amidst much anxiety and politicking, and somehow, somewhere in there, the Spirit moves and makes herself known (whether we listen or not…)
As many of you know, a few of us have gotten together to put together a chapel at Convention this time around, not to partake in the joy of legislative wrangling or the promotion of a delightful product, but rather to give freely the gift of prayer. We'll be offering services throughout the day, as well as simply providing a welcoming space for people to relax in.
If you're interested in helping out, please email me at shamel@gmail.com, or contact Stasi McAteer, John McAteer, or Bertie Pearson via the Chapel's
Anglimergent page. If you're not going to be able to make it to Convention, but would like to support the work of the Chapel, we could use a bit of funding as well, to offset the costs of being in LA for more than a couple of minutes (parking, etc.) and the modest costs of the Chapel-booth itself (e.g., power for the projector, and snacks for guests to nibble on). Just contact me, Stasi, John, or Bertie and we'll work out the details.
I hope to see lots of folks there, and please feel free to come on by!
Peace,
Andy Shamel
