My friends, I have done a radical thing of posting our bishop search on my facebook page, my seminary group and the episcopal priest group and then I thought where else....and I realized that Anglimergent is the first place I should have posted it. if you have anyone in mind to come to Minnesota and challenge some of the ways in which our church is and a creative mind on who we are to become. I hope this finds all of you well. Michele
Jan. 7, 2009, Minneapolis – For the first time in 16 years, Minnesota Episcopalians are looking for a new bishop. One of the most dramatic changes since the last search process is a web-based presentation of their diocesan profile and application process. This information is available through a new website launching today, HERE

There have been other changes, of course, within the Diocese of Minnesota. This is a community that has spent years of honest hard work assessing its future and has come to a unanimous consensus about its need for spiritual transformation. So the job that’s waiting for the new bishop will have its challenges. It calls for someone with a desire to lead, nurture, love, and heal a remarkable group of faithful people in all their diversity without distinction.

The story of their life together in Christ and their desire to embrace anew the mission-minded orientation of their first bishop, Henry Benjamin Whipple, is an integral part of the search for the Ninth Bishop of Minnesota. It is hoped that many will be inspired by that story through the new website, share it with friends throughout the Episcopal Church, and join their sisters and brothers in Minnesota as active listeners for the leading of the Spirit.
Priests who would make good candidates for bishop in the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” should be encouraged to apply directly through the new website. Applications from potential candidates will be accepted from now through February 18.
