Ten years ago I had just gotten home from my overnight job as the night auditor at a local hotel.  I was winding down before I went to bed.  I had the news on and became - as many Americans did that day - caught up in the unfolding horror of the 9/11 attacks.  I had worked in high rise office towers in my lifetime and was sure the employees still had time to get down to safety and I was praying they would -- and then the towers fell and hope with them.

In response to the ensuing emotions and speaches and TV coverage I wrote this song.  I wanted to express the heartache of the day but also to affirm to those heroically responding that even if we weren't close enough to be there our thoughts and prayers were with them.

As I've mentioned before I'm not a professional singer but I write songs as they come to me and share them with the intention of blessing someone.

Blessings and safety to everyone - especially those who live in NYC and DC as  memorial services are held this weekend.
