I am pleased to say that the Moot Community here in London is now in the process of developing and setting up an Arts Cafe Lounge in London. To be able to mix up the activities of spirituality and the arts, we are seeking an Artistic Director. So if you know of anyone who may be interested in this in the UK who lives near London, do let them know.…

A year ago, there were no gathered groups of Anglimergent folks in Western Michigan. A few of us showed up virtually at this site, but barely knew each other.
Fast forward to this past spring, when the first Anglimergent activity started taking place: the diocesan Adult Formation Commission created a panel for our diocesan convention to educate folks about the emergent church conversation. The three of us who were on the panel (Chad Allen, Nate Dawson, Nurya Love Parish) carpooled.…

The best way to have the BCP on your iPhone is to spend $ 9.99 to get iSILO reader. The 'BCP1979e.pdb' version that is readable with iSILO is booked marked, so you can easily navigate entire BCP on your iPhone. The BCP App sold in the iPhone App store is
NOT booked marked and not easily searchable. The Silo reader is worth the $ 9.99 for BCP purposes alone.
Here is what to do:
1. Go to iPhone App Store:…

…and the legions of Episcopalians gather!
For those of you who have never been to General Convention, it's quite a trip. Many decisions are made amidst much anxiety and politicking, and somehow, somewhere in there, the Spirit moves and makes herself known (whether we listen or not…)
As many of you know, a few of us have gotten together to put together a chapel at Convention this time around, not to partake in the joy of legislative wrangling or the promotion of a…

I have written this little paper along with Rev. Don Schell (one of the founders of St. Gregory's of Nyssa Episcopal Church). We offer it as our small contribution to moving the conversation of emerging mission forward in the Episcopal Church.
It is written for diocesan Bishops and Commissions on Ministry,
as food for thought and action that might help us seize the 'Episcopal Moment' and better participate in God's future and mission with hope.

The Invitation:
Over the next three months, I’ll be videotaping brief interviews with Episcopalians as they answer the follow-up questions following each of Brian McLaren’s recent claims (see below). It is my hope to combine an inspiring collection of “I dream of a church where . . .” statements with practical “next steps” statements that will offer a sense of vision to new leaders in our Episcopal Church. I’ll be wandering the halls of General Convention for two weeks, video…

A couple of weeks ago, John and Stasi McAteer, Bertie Pearson, and I got together to start laying down some details for the upcoming Chapel at General Convention, with many thanks to the Every Voice Network for the generous donation of the booth space!
We outlined some basic principles for what we're doing:
— We are modeling the Chapel on an ideal medieval monastic practice; that is, we pray with and for anyone who comes, without concern for politics, but with a concern for…

Over the last few days, the e-mails coming into my Inbox regarding the role of the institution in supporting emergence in faith communities and networks has been so confirming. They have confirmed for me that this is an important moment in the long history of our Christian dialogue. What is it that we say in Eucharistic Prayer C -- something about “Open our eyes to see Your hand at work in the world around us . . . "?
Most of the time, the only real obstacle to moving into new life…

Last night in front of a urinal at a pub, I had a moment to reflect upon a question, posed by a friend, about the trends I've noticed while working for our Diocesan Commission for Emerging Mission, traveling around and talking to young Episcopalians. Here's what I've noticed. I'm guessing this is loosely reflective of the national situation:
1) In our church, there is a group of young 20/30-something lifers - cradle Episcopalians - who really grasp the 'pearl of great price' that is…
