Isaiah 7:14

Isaiah 7 featured in the Morning prayer readings today and it caught my eye in a way Morning Prayer readings only occasionally do (eyes normally being closed at that time of day).



Isaiah 7:14 is the verse quoted by Matthew to show that the process of a child being born of a virgin/young maiden (however you will view the translation) will be a sign of salvation. Preparing for Advent in the connecT community - Adelaide, South Australia

Hi all.



Another Advent theme we will be exploring at connecT is the second coming of Jesus. This is a tough one, isn't it? It's part of the faith and so I accept it. But how long are we supposed to wait or have I missed something?



'Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail' (Rev 1:7)

The Ressurection of Lazarus

What was this resurrection about? Was this story recorded just for the the purpose of establishing Jesus as the greatest magician of his times? Was there another reason or reasons for the story?

Lazarus could possibly be the representative human of his times. The wrappings of cloth may be symbolic of the bindings of death and decay in religion and the world.
