Stewardship with Young Adults

Dear all:

As part of my current studies at the University of Washington, I am beginning a degree project on stewardship and young adults. I would love to hear from people who feel that they are doing a great job engaging people ages 18-40 in ALL facets of stewardship. Drop me a line on here, or e-mail me at jameslander@gmail.com

The Digital Revolution and the Church

I have written a paper entitled, ‘The Digital Revolution and the Church‘, in which I outline the characteristics of the phenomenal internet driven digital revolution presently sweeping the globe. I particularly focus on how it is affecting human behavior, which offers some insights into how we as a church might need to respond. The opening paragraph reads,

There is a revolution sweeping across the globe, driven by the massive growth of the internet and internet related… Continue

recycle vestments

My Parish has a request from some friends connected to a Church in Ghana. We are wondering if any one knows of a vestment and vessel 'recycling' program anywhere? They are so expensive and hard to truly wear out.

Any ideas?

Getting back to Spirituality

The new year brings with it the many challenges of returning to one's original purpose and mission....

somewhat like Jesus when he is Baptized and understands more clearly his mission and ministry.

It seems that modern spirituality needs many options in terms of finding creative and new ways

of communicating with the Spirit. I have taken a bit the example of Phylis Tickle in praying more than once a day, three times if possible, morning, midday and early evening. I have… Continue

My friends, I have done a radical thing of posting our bishop search on my facebook page, my seminary group and the episcopal priest group and then I thought where else....and I realized that Anglimergent is the first place I should have posted it. if you have anyone in mind to come to Minnesota and challenge some of the ways in which our church is and a creative mind on who we are to become. I hope this finds all of you…

How Church Emerges

This story in the New York Times yesterday about a congregation of faithful Catholics who have kept their church open "illegally" is amazing: it shows how deeply people want church, and desire to make it themselves, by hand. I love the woman at the end who says she doesn't know if she could ever go back.
