Karen Ward sent me your way... I am coming to the UK to study the Emergent Church, and I am looking for some people to connect with to get a lay of the land. Mostly I am looking for a "home" community to live and worship with for the year.
Looking forward to hearing from you...
Hi Jonny
I got the some details from Karen, it's too late for us, and sunday's are always dificult, but keep me in the loop for anything else happening
I sent Richard Hayes (a new member here) info on your Feb network overnight. He seems interested. I wish I could be there but I'm, stuck here in the Colonies!
I really do have an inner Brit and a need to connect with my Anglimergent mates!
Just teasing you bud - there are hosts of problems with social networking (esp. sites like Facebook where you can actually drunk dial and moon married folks) but my overall concerns relate more with online activity in general. Some people "forget" that even emails aren't private and that your online activity is being watched by people who are in positions to hire you. Wonder how many online brawls could be solved if we actually met for beers?
I stay on MySpace, Facebook and LinkedIn because I find these "free" sites allow me to interview with a number of fellow authors and potential readers. But I can see how these can become major time wasters if one is not careful.
The nature of Anglimergent especially as guided by Karen's wise oversight will prevent a lot of the silliness and verbal abuse that one finds elsewhere. I have hope this will help build pond to poind connections.
+He, (+ArchBishop Baker) did indeed 'swear off' but I hath convinced his holiness to join in this ;-)
As how can the two of us run the emerging church (Anglican Province) if we can't network ;-)
As sometimes our bat-phones just don't work ;-)
