Hello Wayne,
Nice to meet you online. To ansewer our question,
I guess we let it evolve, and invite people to this space. I think as a social network it will lend itself to being a good resource. I think you would have a good idea of who may benifit from this network in your role. What dieas do you have?

There is a gathering of people in what has been called the 'Cafe Church' - it has changed emphasis depending on the particular cohort (seems to be the 'in' word these days though I hate it) attending. At the moment it seems to be a point for some the long-grassers (homeless and itinerants) which is really exciting. But I'll check with the convenor of that gathering for a little more info. Our St Luke's parish is trying something at the markets though there is some confusion. I'm looking at it as a possible avenue for a 'fresh expression' others are still thinking along the lines of a 'come and worship with us at 9am Sunday' mode... but it all takes time.

shalom.

hi Wayne
Just thought I would let you know another Aussie has put his name in this group. We're preparing to put some of the fresh expressions stuff 'out there' when we have our diocesan conference in a couple of weeks. I've had a couple of sessions this year encouraging people to actually READ 'Time to Grow' - not sure if people have actually grasped the implications of it just yet. Stuart is coming up for our diocesan conference and the weekend will be devoted to Fresh Expressions. I notice the good articles that went up on the website sometime recently too!! :-)
See ya.
Blessings.

Wayne ... just connected a bit with Church Army here ... there's a great guy in our deanery, no one in my parish.
I just met bp Stephen Pickard from Aus (Adelaide) and he was keen on you all as well!
Re taking things home to TEC - I definitely am taking some stuff from the Sheffield Centre ! As well as continuing to delve into context, context, always context for mission.
be well, - S

What you do for fun and re-creation?
Exploring new cities, camping in the great outdoors, doing ordinary housy stuff with my wife (Meg) and children (Darcy and Iona).
What do you see as some of the biggest challenges facing Anglicans today?
How do we do church for the sake of those who haven't met Jesus yet. Our mindset, attitudes and expectations about the institution and each other get in the way too often.
What do you see as some of the biggest opportunities for Anglicans today?
Being a diverse community with people from every walk of life, theological perspective and nation who find themselves seated at God's table together.
What do you want Anglimergent to be? and what other Anglimergent resources, gatherings, activities or events would you find helpful for your ministry?
I am the secretary for national Anglican task force that is trying to seed missional ideas throughout the dioceses of Australia, namely Fresh Expressions Australia. I am also part of an organisation that actively plants new missional communities too. Connecting with other seeders and planters would be terrific.
