Reading, playing games (board games, card games, even an occasional role-playing game), listening to music, listening to podcasts.
What do you see as some of the biggest challenges facing Anglicans today?
The perception that Anglicanism is either ineffectual and harmless, or aggressive and bigoted.
What do you see as some of the biggest opportunities for Anglicans today?
There seem to be an awful lot of people looking for the kind of spirituality that we're so good at keeping secret among ourselves -- people who feel "out of step" with the world and in need of a spiritual focus, but who can't see themselves encountering God in the churches they're most familiar with.
What do you want Anglimergent to be? and what other Anglimergent resources, gatherings, activities or events would you find helpful for your ministry?
I'm in a relatively new volunteer role as head of communications at Redeemer, and would like to meet other people who are doing similar work.
Hi Wade, the video of Bishop Greg is a riot. Thanks for posting it.
I hope to meet you in physical space sometime and I hope you might come to some of the 'Conspiracy' events in our diocese, sponsored by CFEM (The Commission for Emerging Mission).
I love this Wade. I'm at St. Margaret's, Bellevue, but unfortunately previously occupied this weekend.
I'm going to be working with the Commission for Emerging Mission next year - we should meet sometime. This sort of event is just the kind of thing we're hoping to plug in with and help support/promote.
...Costume Party Family Nite on the 24th, we're revamping our signage, doing some mailings, planning a Vision Retreat for Nov., working on an emerging multi-cultural service slated to open at Lent, and all the regular stuff, too.
Exciting and overwhelming all at the same time!
Wade! Cool to hear from you! I was just sitting with Fr. John at a clergy day today. I was excited to hear about the things happening at Church of the Redeemer, Kenmore, including the possibility of a ministry to RP gamers. What's up in your world?
