Tom Sramek, Jr. commented on John McAteer's group Anglimergent TEC @ General Convention 09
"I second Stephanie's comment. I got to hand out at the "booth" and say None prayers and it was a great thing. We may want to start planning very soon for GC 2012 with the idea of having both a "chapel" for God communication…"

Anthony Charles Thurston replied to Tom Sramek, Jr.'s discussion Episcopal Search in an Emergent Context in the group Diocese of Oregon
"OK--don't keep up with the numbers. If we could afford a Suffragan it would be a good idea, although this did not work very well when Sandy Hampton was in Minnesota. With the major difficulties with DPA it will take a lot of building of…"

What do you want Anglimergent to be? and what other Anglimergent resources, gatherings, activities or events would you find helpful for your ministry?
Since I'm new to this, I'm just interested in finding out more. I'm particularly interested in how one can birth and nurture emergent ideas in the midst of an already established church.

Hey Tom, as the creator of the Diocese of Oregon group, I wanted to call your attention to a retreat that the Diocese of Olympia is putting on this Summer in Port Angeles, WA. You folks are invited! A few of us (including Jason Sierra, who's working for the National Church w/Young Adults and is posted in Seattle) are tossing around the idea of organizing regular (annual?) regional retreats, and this is our first go at it. I just posted a blog about it here.

Hello Tom. I saw your photo listed as a "friend" on our mutual friend Jed Holdorph's facebook page. Then I noticed it again here on Anglimergent. Small world. It is good for the folks in The Episcopal Church to connect -- especially in this context of the emergent church -- and to share in the new ways God is bringing us together!

No kidding! I'm seeing all us gtng frontiers-folk who were so cutting edge when that list was formed about 11 years ago going "...er. This is cool... I'll get the hang of this. Really!" ;) How quickly I can become a luddite! But together, we'll sort it out!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I'm still getting used to this way of connecting with folks, so bear with me if I don't immediately respond!

Tom, absolutely fabulous to see your smiling FACE! I'm grateful to Karen for many things about this place ... among them is the ability to actually "see" people I've only known from the web (esp GTNG clergy). And yah yah I know I don't have my own face up but know I should. Iona was powerful so its there as an icon of my time here in the UK.
