What you do for fun and re-creation?
Sing (choral stuff at as high a level as I can), run, bike, spend time with Julia, be outside, travel
What do you see as some of the biggest challenges facing Anglicans today?
Divisiveness and splintering ... and being set in old ways that aren't life-giving, but that are too scary to change.
What do you see as some of the biggest opportunities for Anglicans today?
Where else can you be Protestant and Catholic at the same time? We are traditional and ancient in an age that desperately needs historical grounding in the wisdom of eras outside our own. At our best, we are open to new information, insights, and experiences in a way that can make Anglicanism profoundly attractive to those around us who are drawn to Jesus but disturbed by the common images of his Church.
What do you want Anglimergent to be? and what other Anglimergent resources, gatherings, activities or events would you find helpful for your ministry?
A place to meet people who might or might not be much like me, but who feel the same call to encounter God in the living Christ through the Anglican tradition--and who are attracted to the unique combination of technology, postmodernism, postcolonialism, and whatever else all that stuff is in the mix of "emergent" that feels like it might be an exciting way forward.
