Hi Sam

I thought I saw a resemblance to Tim in your photo. I, know your Dad ,ofcourse, and Tim was Diocesan youth officer when I was first ordained and I was one of the diocesan youth chaplians. Say hi to all for me.

The services are informal and we spend at least half the time in discussion groups. Up unitl now we have been using dvd to communicate the message - a series on modern parables and Nooma by Rob Bell. We also follow the services with a meal. We are celebrating the eucharist ,once a month, in the context of a meal and, again. keep it fairly informal, but follow the prayer book, stripped back a bit, with some creative additions. Last week we had about 30; half of whom come from non-anglican or no church backgrounds. and represent a cross-section of ages.

What are you up to @ Brighton, Sam?

Hi Sam

Yes, I am at St. Judes. I have been here 5 years in September. I was in Port Lincoln before that and Mile End/Nunga ministry before that and Burnside ( as an assistant) before that.

Hey Sam, are you related to Canon Bill Goodes? Bill went to Burra the same time I went to Port Lincoln and we were in the diocese of Willochra together: he was, also, Locum here, at Brighton, before I came. I went to your Brighton many years ago for an ABM thing, met the rector but can't remember his name; it was probably about 1997. How long have you been there?

One thing we are doing at St. Judes is planting a 'emergent' congregation in the evening. It is very early days at this stage, but the signs are promising. I'm developing a blog at the moment to float some ideas and share our journey. Any ideas you might have would be great.
