Neil - That would be a fantastic move. Fresh Expressions is going to have some representation at our (Ottawa) Diocesan Synod this October, and would be fantastic to have some sort of caucus during the time of GS2010.
Is anyone else going to be at GS 2010? Folowing ECUSAs lead, and the Vision 2019 agenda, I wonder if there is interest in an anglimergent caucus (?) ........
Hi Malcolm,
The BCP for me is a symbol - not to be taken too seriously, but used as a measure for 'new' liturgies.
Before I got to my current post (vicar in rural BC) I was in England, and never used the BCP. The anacronism was just too vivid. Now I…
One other interesting development I've noticed is the use of "Church" to describe the meeting place or/and gathered community of any religion. EG a Muslim church, a Buddhist church This seems to be mainly done by those outside of the religions.

Thanks Kieran, I'm between two places on the question of language. I don't think we can re-claim words which have strong cultural overtones (in whatever direction) that we don't want - language is living and it's meanings are decided by the majority…
My issue with kingdom questions is firstly that they can sound very propositional/ objective. I don't know what the 'kingdom' means, except that I have heard people (ok - evangelicals :-) ) talking about "kingdom values" and a "kingdom agenda" as if…
Hi Ian,
I was only recently aware that fresh expressions is happening in Canada - but then I live in the boonies of BC (think cumbria / lake district). I would be interested in how you see the difference in emphasis between anglimergent and Fresh Ex…
I agree with Ian, care needed about terminology
- but this raises the possibility of 'national' anglimergents. Interesting with 9 Canadian anglimergents......
(thinks ...Maybe a recruiting drive is needed for anglimergent.ca)
Hi,
Bearing in mind the comments already made, I want to say that I am suspicious of the "kingdom" questions - especially when we seem to be giving an "objective" answer. I see too many people defining the "kingdom" as just another way of imposing t…
Can I share two thoughts on pilgrimage?
1) Pilgrimage is a return journey. For medieval pilgrims, there was an outward and a return journey. We tend to focus on the outward, but the return is maybe more significant. The outward is the journey of acc…
Hi,
I'm really in a pragmatic place on these questions - our church is a small town anglican church in the boonies congregation of around 50 for the main service. I've been the priest for about 4 years. Our practice seems to be completely open - any…
