Adele Sakler...she has been involved with the Emergent Church for a few years. And her partner Katryna who moved here from California.
Our hope is to appeal to those who are dissatisfied with the churches here....and from most of the people who I've met who've relocated here....that dissatisfaction is quite high.

So who's "we"? Not trying to pry or anything - it's just that I have more than a passing interest in how these sorts of communities start (and grow).

So Meghan - tell me (us) more about VERVE? (Just noticed it on your profile; Google isn't helping.)

What do you see as some of the biggest challenges facing Anglicans today?
I think the Episcopal church may be the last Protestant dinosaur if it does not wake up and take notice of the shift in our cultural paradigm. Young Episcopalians have disaffiliated from the church and the church has done very little to assess the whys and wherefores of this phenomena.
Worship feels so stale in so many churches. There are a few shining examples in Virginia but they are by far the exception. (St. Paul Memorial in Charlottesville, St. George's in Fredericksburg, St. Stephen's in Richmond are the exceptions.)
I think the LGBT issue has been blown out of proportion by a a minority who cannot come to terms with a broad acceptance of LGBT community within our greater society.
In Virginia, there are some very odd evangelical types who for lack of a better term fear that they do not know.
I'm fed up with being part of a church in a diocese that refuses to live in the 21 century and ordain gay and lesbian people. C'mon on bishops, get with it, it's 2008.
What do you want Anglimergent to be? and what other Anglimergent resources, gatherings, activities or events would you find helpful for your ministry?
