What do you see as some of the biggest challenges facing Anglicans today?: integrating emerging fresh expressions into the main flow of diocesan church life whilst similtaneously allowing them to keep their prophetic edge.

What do you see as some of the biggest opportunities for Anglicans today?: we still have a place in the collective consciousness - it's not too late to take advantage of this to speak a good word to those who are still listening

At 7:09am on April 16, 2008, Matt Rees said…: hi karen - thanks for asking. it's slow progress - the diocese are putting a planning application in to turn it into a restaurant which we're hoping won't be approved. if it's rejected then it puts us in a really strong position. but we probably won't know for another 3-5 months. There is another building which could work out - it's a massive victorian church building with a good monastic pedigree - it was the mother house of the oldest anglican monastic order - the Cowley Fathers - and it's now pretty much unused. But it's a big barn of a building - freezing cold and listed to the hilt so would be difficult to use in many ways (the location isn't as good as the other one) but it might be easier to get a hold of.
are you almost finished with the work on the Abbey?
