"Like Keiran below I am a bit disappointed we have not generated more discussion.  So in response to Mary Beth, let me suggest (just to start a discussion :) )  that 'emerging church' is more slogan than reality.  I say that…"

"Thanks to both.  That helps explain why I was following directions but not getting results!  One of the  disadvantages of asking for help on the internet is sometimes the help is older than the update!!"

"I've done a fair amount of work with facebook pages, and know alot of people in the various Episcopal church related sites doing this as well.  One thing to be aware of, though is that facebook has changed its "group" feature, so…"

Using social media - esp. Facebook

I am intrigued by the potential to use Facebook et. al. to reach new people.  I am especially intrigued by the idea of using Facebook discussion boards to have wide open discussions with anyone.  Has anyone done that?  Is anyone really good :) with Facebook to help with welcome pages, etc.See More

What do you see as some of the biggest challenges facing Anglicans today?
being enthusiastic about reaching out to new people

being able to discuss issues (abortion, homosexuality, etc.) while staying loving --- and then letting people outside the church see that
What do you see as some of the biggest opportunities for Anglicans today?
The number of people who are searching for a church! And searching for a relationship with God. We (Episcopalians -- Anglicans) have such much to offer to these people and we do such a terrible job offering it! I sincerely suspect God is very disappointed in us.
What do you want Anglimergent to be? and what other Anglimergent resources, gatherings, activities or events would you find helpful for your ministry?
A forum for sharing ideas. How do you reach the young adult who spends Sunday at Starbucks? How do you reach the older adult who was so bored with church they never attend? How do you involve the spouse who sleeps in?
