I've crafted my question for the candidates for bishop tomorrow:
Several of us dream of starting "new kinds of communities that put the love of God and the brilliance of Jesus on display in honest, compelling ways." We dream of churches that lack pretense and possess passion, churches that make traditional Episcopalians nervous. As bishop, how would you support and encourage this kind of risky, creative work?
So, wrangled a week off in early September, 5th - 13th. Would love to come visit, bring Lauren, and spend a Sunday with y'all at Thad's. What's your take? I can move that date later in the year, but not earlier. "Other duties as assigned" and all...
