Several of us talked after the Rector's "explanation" in the library. We agree that "inreach is just as important as outreach".

Jennifer, gosh, we are going to miss you at C.C.! Alot of people are letting the "office" know that they aren't happy. But I hope you are!!

Jennifer, keep us posted about your work starting something in DC. Do you know Emily Scott? She's begun St. Lydia's, Manhattan. Could be good for the two of you to be in touch.

Doubt it... I'm not affiliated with the Cafe as strongly as I used to be, in grad school, overwhelmed with insanity and only barely a lay reader at my own parish! Next year, tho.. I seem to make it every other year. :)

What you do for fun and re-creation?
Sleep - and when I'm done sleeping I like to cycle, garden, interior design, watersports (swimming, sailing), and travel.
What do you see as some of the biggest challenges facing Anglicans today?
We're stuck in a self-deceptive mode of self-importance. Being a "best kept secret" is not the way to spread the kingdom of God. While internationally we're one of the three largest Christian bodies, in the US we're shrinking. We need to return to focusing on the power of God to transform lives and learn how to graciously invite people into that experience, trusting that God will honor our faithfulness.
What do you see as some of the biggest opportunities for Anglicans today?
The Episcopal/Anglican church in terms of theology, liturgy, and practices offers some of the ripest fruit for a postmodern world. It's right here in front of us - we just have to be willing to let go of the fruit in our hands that is rotting to be able to grasp it.
What do you want Anglimergent to be? and what other Anglimergent resources, gatherings, activities or events would you find helpful for your ministry?
A broad and deep resource. Thought-provoking but practical in application. I want to hear stories of 'failures' as well as 'successes' because I think we need to hear what the pitfalls are so we don't waste time and resources reinventing a wheel that's going to blow out on us.
