I'm not sure if you keep up with the blog, but I had posted on there that I'm a doctoral student doing a paper on the ecclesiology of the emerging church, esp. as it relates to certain recent technological/social/economic/cultural trends, such as decentralized networks and bottom-up organization. Karen Ward said that you've done some work on network theory. I'd appreciate it if you could provide any resources on this topic, particularly as it might relate to the emerging church.
Hi Fred. Thanks for getting back to me. They're all over the place up here. We are going to be making decisions by the end of the week. I'll be in touch.
Hey Fred. I'm finally on the staff here at the MN Diocese and I'm working to turn the ship on their fall Diocesan Convention (right now they've booked -- get this, a juggler -- a street performer!). Looking at what's going on around here, I'm thinking the juggler isn't the best call. As you know, the MSN is recommending a decentralized, networked Diocese -- that, of course, made me think of you. I'm fixin to have a conversation with the Bishop about keynoters and I'm wondering if you are available/interested. Dates are Oct. 24 and 25.
Hey Fred: Yes, I heard about that. I really regret your not being more in the mix in a prominent way in the mission discussions and work -- their loss. Network theory could have made a huge impact here, and I'm sorry for our collectively-lost opportunity. Anyway, hope you are well and hope our paths cross again very soon. d
Hey Fred! Welcome aboard! You were mentioned in this month's Soundings (diocesan newspaper) about your presentation to the Bishop's Commission on Mission Strategy -- sounds like your work there took root a bit. Hope you are well. Devon
