hi friend-
i hope the summer is treating you well. my sister, Allison, said you came to Davidson this spring. you made a connection -- do the Craigs have a look or what? she is becoming an impressive poet -- it has taken years of disciplined work, when her writings becomes a bit more public i will send something your way. i know you will be impressed.
okay - i have a question. i, too, am working on some writing. there is a phrase that i heard in one of your albums. it was a piece you were reading and the line i remember is: 'across the void of knowing'. i would like read the rest of the prose and possibly use that line as i reflect (want to give correct credit).
i look forward to hearing from you - write when you can.
in peace, carrie
hey again!
i would love to attend the Advent offering. maybe it can happen.
in the mean time- i will be at Kanuga June 4-6 for the Synod meeting. i am first alternate as clergy deputy for next summer's General Convention. and yes, i am very excited!
this is a great way to re-connect. i have just started a confirmation class and am using the book, My Faith My Life, as the curriculum. Jenifer Gamble suggests music as part of the class and there are several selections from Carin. great album!
okay - i will check out Advent and if i am lucky maybe you will be in town in early June for a quick hello! (in my dreams, right?)
faithfully,
carrie
hello dear friend,
it has been too long! i pray this note finds you well.
as you can see i have been to Kanuga recently (my first time to 'walk' the lab) and it was strange for you not to be there. i attended the ServantLeadership conference last spring. WOW - that was an amazing weekend.
so it is not a surprise to find you here. ain't it grand.. we still have so much to learn! in God's peace, carrie
Dear Fran, I just joined this network and I recognized your name but couldn't figure out where. Then I realized when I went to your page that you led a music workshop I attended some years ago. We used one of the songs I learned there at our wedding! Congratulations on your new album, and best wishes. Kate Newmyer
