Emergence (Parapateo) in the Individual

I minister in an urban church that sits almost next door to a large taxi hub. Taxis fill the parking lot of the hub and even spill out into the street. Most of the taxi drivers are from Nigeria. I have always wanted to connect with the people in this taxi hub. Each day I drive by the place, a wish or a prayer would be consciously on my mind.I was visited one day by a gentleman who talked to me in earnest about his call to a ministry amongst his colleagues in this taxi hub. He wanted to start…See More

Advent

The dawning of a new age. A time for hope. Moving away from the 20th Century into the present era. What are the prophets saying? When the gospel of Jesus and the needs of the world collide, everything mustchange. ( Brian McClaren)Advent is a time of waiting. While we wait we engage in dismantling old structures and systems, take them apart, lay the pieces on the ground, walking around them, allow the wind to blow on them. Through this reflection process, new creative possibilities emerge for a…See More

The Ressurection of Lazarus

What was this resurrection about? Was this story recorded just for the the purpose of establishing Jesus as the greatest magician of his times? Was there another reason or reasons for the story?Lazarus could possibly be the representative human of his times. The wrappings of cloth may be symbolic of the bindings of death and decay in religion and the world. What were the times? An Empire spreading death everywhere. A religious institution ministering death by its hierarchical orders,…See More

What do you see as some of the biggest challenges facing Anglicans today?
Helping the Communion become truly Anglican, namely a welcoming community.
Attuning hearts and minds to a world so different from the modern 20th Century
Helping all to follow in the way of Jesus- a movement of radical love and compassion.
Helping all to be a new kind of human- loving, compassionate, generous and missional
What do you see as some of the biggest opportunities for Anglicans today?
The challenges above are the opportunities. The Anglican church at its best has been and still is the first and last outpost for a new humanity, measured nothing less than the fullness of the stature of the Christ.
It is the church that has the amazing capacity to harmonize disparity in its various forms
What do you want Anglimergent to be? and what other Anglimergent resources, gatherings, activities or events would you find helpful for your ministry?
To embrace and celebrate the different local expressions of church. To be a prophetic voice when these cultural expression
deviate from the gospel of radical love and compassion of the Christ.. Engaging in missional activity that will bring timely help to those who hurt and hope in this world.
Host learning, fellowship, giving and serving events
