What do you want Anglimergent to be? and what other Anglimergent resources, gatherings, activities or events would you find helpful for your ministry?
we are going to host Mobsby at our church and I am looking forward to hearing what he has to say. For many years I was active at Brent House, the Episcopal house at the University of Chicago. I think that that was a model for what intelligent emergent church could be and spoke to many intelligent, creative young people.

Let's befriend the Unitarian Universalists!!!

I was very upset to hear on CSpan a couple of nights ago, Bishop Martyn Minns, who is in the United States representing conservative "Anglicans", speaking to a group of Evangelical Christians who were gathered for some kind of "family values" conference. Minns spoke for a long time explaining the "schism" in the Episcopal church from his perspective. Although there were many things that I found in his speech to be upsetting and hate mongering, one of the worst things I heard him say, was that li… Continue

Elizabeth, I was in Colorado for before coming Northeast. I'm going to be out of town most of the next couple of weeks. Give me some contact information if you think of it and I'll see if I can make some connection to the Ashfield folks.

Hi Elizabeth,
Thanks for the heads up. We are only in the very early formational stages of anything like a cohort here in Western Mass. I'd love to get your insights about how to move forward. I've been here only two years and am learning about what a different context New England is. It's a good thing, but a challenge.

Hey there! Thanks for inviting me. I sure hope we aren't losing the older crowd because I'm fast becoming part of that segment!

Hi Elizabeth,
LOVE your photo ...
and what you've said about Sam Portaro - he must have been quite an influence; and from what I know (have read) about him and Brent House, you're probably accurate about an early emergent model ... certainly in matching the context and blessing all.
peace,
