Bill Stoker replied to Fr. Greg's discussion TEC GENERAL CONVENTION '09
"eric, it's kind of like this: when in a serious dialogue when one or more party is feeling pain, distrust, anger, or other emotion, there often isn't an authentic desire to be molded, shaped, or trimmed - but a desire to be heard, and to…"

Bill Stoker replied to Fr. Greg's discussion TEC GENERAL CONVENTION '09
"i find that we often tell folks they ought to live in humility. but the conversation is usually both parties demanding the same from the other: : you need to see where i am coming from, and then you'd understand and change your ways :: well,…"

Bill Stoker replied to Mark Wirtz's discussion “the great Western heresy” ?
"i find we often take a splinter of a perspective and run with it, regardless of consequence. and we often argue against something, even if something beautiful is also to be found in that which we disagree with - and this causes disassociation, it…"

:: Well of Life

**well of life** stumbling through old graveyards, isn't everybody's favorite past-time. heck, it's not even mine. but, i was put in awe by many scenes i saw in this particular one in south carolina.a cross. a water spicket. normally, in a "beautiful" image, one might think of jesus speaking to a woman about being a well.when i saw this one, broken, crusted, and with caked dirt, i thought of that passage too. because i wonder if that's what others see when they look into our communities. i…See More

:: Chains

odds are, the chains of life are very similar to the chains that bind us as a community.what are these chains and how can we be liberated from them?it's not always easy to look in our closet and actually put a name on the skeletons, but after we do, it's often easier to keep on naming them, point our fingers at them, show them to others and then...close the door, or move down the street.possibly even more of a radical question is: can they be used as some form of anchor?a link to where we have…See More

Homesteaders and Vagabonds

some of us are homesteaders. we created a place where we call home, and are shaping it.some of us are crop-sharers, we share some piece of community with others, and are in the process of creating our community.others of us; however, are vagabonds, drifters, and nomads. where we lay our head, be it for a day or 10 years, we call our home, but we know it's not our home, because something in us, at some moment in time, tells us to "go".it's not that we don't take care of where we're at, try to…See More
