I just wanted to thank everyone for all of their help and support with the Prayer Tent at General Convention. As Tom, Stephanie, and Stasi noted, it went over very well, and we got a huge amount of good feedback. Here are some of the pictures that...

Thanks for all the good work in preparing for this chapel. I am hopeful, of course, that lots of people take advantage of the quiet time and meditation time that you have so carefully provided. Anthony Thurston

I love the idea of the ¨floating¨ chapel. How much we need that quiet presence at Convention. I wont be there but will be praying for the church in the USA. There are great things happening in the church there I believe....you are an inspiration t...

I also won't be there, but your Chapel sounds like a blessing for those who may need to take a break, pray or study the Daily Office. Sounds very holy.

General Convention Nears!

…and the legions of Episcopalians gather!

For those of you who have never been to General Convention, it's quite a trip. Many decisions are made amidst much anxiety and politicking, and somehow, somewhere in there, the Spirit moves and makes herself known (whether we listen or not…)

As many of you know, a few of us have gotten together to put together a chapel at Convention this time around, not to partake in the joy of legislative wrangling or the promotion of a delightful product, but rather… Continue

The Chapel at General Convention

A couple of weeks ago, John and Stasi McAteer, Bertie Pearson, and I got together to start laying down some details for the upcoming Chapel at General Convention, with many thanks to the Every Voice Network for the generous donation of the booth space!

We outlined some basic principles for what we're doing:

Praying for and Praying with General Convention

As Tim alluded to in his great blogdown of the Y'all Come in San Francisco, a group of us are going to General Convention this summer with the express purpose of doing something that can seem bizarre and out of place in the craziness of legislative sessions, the exhibit hall, and church politics: We're going there to pray. For those of you who have never gone to General Convention, it can be a rather high-stress environment, especially around high-profile resolutions and any number of spontaneou… Continue

More flowers for the hair of those coming to San Francisco

And what flower is prettier than the reminder lilly?

A number of you have been in touch with either me or Sara miles about the meeting next week in San Francisco. I understand however, that plans change over time! To that end, if you haven't, please send me your arrival and departure times, and whether or not you will have your own transportation.

We have housing set aside, so if you haven't arranged your own housing, but rather were told there would be housing available, this is it! I just ne… Continue
