A surruptitious liturgy for a cafe

A couple of weeks back I led (if that's the right term: "facilitate" perhaps) a commissioning service for our Contextual Theology Programme. The challege was to do so in a cafe during the normal business of the establishment. I took the decision that we should not abuse the hospitality of our hosts by making a scene of our worship and potentially driving other clients away. (I was reminded of Sister Act… Continue

you would need ot submit an A4 proposal on a standard form. if you go to the grove site at www.grovebooks.co.uk and follow the link for potential authors it gives you the form. wen done that would go to the evangelism group which i chair and we woudl look thorugh it if we like it we'll then agree timing etc with you and suggest any areas we think might need devloping changin etc. untill we've reached that stage and you and we have agreed it is an exploration rather than a certainty. all ic an say is we have wanted such a booklet so we'll b keen to see a proposal. the classic reason things soemtimes don;t happen is that we get a number of proposals that are acutlly not at all clearly evangelistic. we are very flexibel on what that means and how it's approached but we expect peopel reading the booklet to gain insights on how faith is communicated to those who are not christians. another issue is relevance. so if you do offer a proposal it mighth well be worth thinking about a) other places where chaplaincy can be undertaken as a mdoe of ministry b) insights that apply to christian outreach in general. hope that helps
