I am doing spiritual direction, retreats, and quiet days around the diocese of Chicago, and I love it.
Today is our parish Advent Quiet Day, using the Magnificat as our text.

Glad to see so many joining the group. It is important work, esp. as we seek to bring the wisdom of past generations of the faithful to our own day.

I have found spiritual direction to be crucial in my life. I have seen several different directors over the last decade and i often find myself in similar situations with peers and colleagues (by this, i mean a situation wherein what they are seeking is spiritual direction but they may not be church folk or may never have heard of it...) Glad to join the group!

I suppose everyone here is aware of SDI http:/www.sdiworld.org for everything on spiritual direction from the Spiritual Directors' International with more than 60,000 members in the USA alone. I'm regional coordinator for my country.

Hi,

I'm in training to be a spiritual director through the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation In Washington DC and at Fordham University (the Jesuit University of New York). Glad to find this group!

I have recently finished the Exercises of St. Ignatius. During that I had a Spiritual Director and met a couple of others. I found out that there are very few in the area, and was wondering if anyone knew any good educational resources on the subject.

Not a Spiritual Director myself, but have been hoping to engage with one for 2 or more years. Interested in the possibility of pursuing it one day myself.
