I'm not referring to any specific school or model of spiritual direction per se; only intending by the use of the word "classic" to communicate a desire for spiritual direction that is rooted in the rich tradition of Christian spirituality and soul care.

While there are considerable insights from the medical model of counseling/understanding human nature and from Therapeutic models I believe there are some unique contributions toward understanding human beings from our own revelation and wider Christian Tradition.
