Click HERE for a sermon from our Parish this past Sunday- It is fabulous!

It is called The Gospel of Matthew and Drag Queens and was preached by my Co-Pastor Megan Rohrer for St Aidan's on the day of our Annual Meeting.

The Rev. Canon Scott Byron Hayashi was elected May 22 as 11th bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Utah, pending required consents from a majority of bishops with jurisdiction and standing committees of the Episcopal Church.

Probably most here already know about this. I don't know how likely he is to be elected, but the possibility exists that the next openly gay bishop in TEC will be elected in Utah!

Thanks Rachael for bringing this to my attention. I probably wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

There is an interesting discussion going on over at Sojourners over this open letter about LGBT people and the recent discussion on race in the Emergent movement. I am delighted that it was written by a straight African-American Evangelical, since as one commenter made clear, any letter written by one of us queer folks would have been dismissed.

I am surprised that there has been so little commentary about it in the Emergent blogosphere, since it's a very hot button, to say the least! ;-)

Some of our Lutheran brothers and sisters (as in the ELCA) voted to open up the clergy to non-celibate gays and lesbians as well as allow individual congregations to recognize faithful, monogamous, same-sex relationships. See the news release here. Exciting news!!!
