I just wanted to thank everyone for all of their help and support with the Prayer Tent at General Convention. As Tom, Stephanie, and Stasi noted, it went over very well, and we got a huge amount of good feedback. Here are some of the pictures that Bertie Pearson got, and hopefully there'll be more coming as soon. If you took any, please post them!

We gathered a lot of ideas for next convention, and so if you're interested in being part of the team, stay tuned for General Convention Chapel 2012!

I second Stephanie's comment. I got to hand out at the "booth" and say None prayers and it was a great thing. We may want to start planning very soon for GC 2012 with the idea of having both a "chapel" for God communication and an email area for other communication. We also may well be able to combine with other organizations in this area, specifically Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation, who had a fabulous booth that must have cost them bucks. Anyway, with a little more lead time and perhaps some more local volunteers, we could be set for GC Indianapolis 2012!

big thanks to stasi, andy and john AND MAGGIE for creating a centered and refreshing (and simply awesome!) anglimergent presence @ general convention. i'm humbled by their creativity and commitment. i got to hang and help in the booth several times, and it got me thoroughly psyched about the possibilities for conversation and ministry. let's keep jamming together. it's a good thing.

Hi all,

The booth has generated a lot of positive response and even a few people joining us for prayer. Unfortunately, since John & Andy have pretty much staffed it nonstop the entire time, they are exhausted, and we've all decided to shut down the booth tomorrow evening (Sunday), rather than continue to staff it for the second week.

Hopefully we can do it again, and get it a bit more organized with several volunteers helping. Still, a great first run!

In case any of you didn't see it, Andy posted his notes from the planning meeting we had back in May where we discussed how to turn our booth into a prayer chapel. You can read his notes here.

The booth will be open for prayer any time the exhibit hall is open, but we will also be offering monastic prayer offices on the medieval schedule:

Terce = 9:00 am
Sext = 12:00 pm
None = 3:00 pm
Vespers = 6:00 pm

Based on when the exhibit hall is open, here is the schedule we will actually be able to offer.

Tuesday, July 7 = Sext, None
Wednesday, July 8 = Terce, Sext, None
Thursday, July 9 = Sext, None, Vespers
Friday, July 10 = Sext, None
Saturday, July 11 = Terce, Sext, None
Sunday, July 12 = Terce, Sext, None
Monday, July 13 = Sext, None
Tuesday, July 14 = Sext, None
Wednesday, July 15 = Terce, Sext, None
Thursday, July 16 = Terce, Sext

Hi everyone! I'm so excited that so many folks are interested in the chapel at General Convention! Bertie Pearson, John & Stasi McAteer (and young Maggie), and I had a great meeting today. I'll have notes up soon, but I just wanted to let you all know that I appreciate all of your interest, and look forward to meeting you in Anaheim!

Hi all, keep posting updates! I will be there for the duration with EPF Young Adult Presence; I have no idea how busy I will be but I'm super excited to actually meet "like minds," network, and enact visions! :-D Don't know how much I could actually "help" but I'm really glad that we'll be there! Yay!
