PROVINCIAL ASSEMBLY - ANGLICAN CHURCH IN NORTH AMERICA

I will be departing Sunday afternoon for Fort Worth, in order to be present for all of the proceedings next week at the Provincial Assembly of the Anglican Church in North America. I am just curious as to whether there will be others from Anglimergent there? If so, maybe we could schedule lunch or dinner together?

Dear Father Greg,
I do hope you or someone else from the new ACNA will start a 'Group' Page for ACNA here on Anglimergent.
I am a TEC person, and I truly want ACNA folk to join in on this site as our aim is to truly provide place for discussion amongst diverse Anglicans from different Anglican church bodies and different countries around the world, yet remaining (as best we are able and with God's help) within 'the bonds of affection.'

Please do continue to post on what happens at your Provincial Assembly to keep us informed.

God's grace and peace to you.

I will be happy to start an ACNA page later today. I completely with with your goals. I'll post more on my experience of the Provincial Assembly later today.

Yesterday was an amazing day. The opening Eucharist at St. Vincent's Cathedral was glorious. The pipe organ and choir were fantastic, the hymns were sung with gusto, incense gently wafted through the nave, with the chanting of scripture, prayer, and the receiving of God's grace and real presence in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. The address by Bishop Duncan was powerful, and set us on the path to keep the main thing the main thing...which is our mission to witness to Jesus Christ in North America and faithful, orthodox Anglican Christians.

In the afternoon I attended a seminar on the Benefits package available, as well as a seminar on mission. I also attended the Delegates session wherein the entire Constitution was approved by the Assembly. There is an amazing sense of the Holy Spirit pulling us together in unity.

There are representatives here from Lambeth Palace, the Church of England, LCMS, APA, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Fort Worth, Orthodox Church in America, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Jerusalem, Burma, SE Asia, West Africa, etc. What an amazing sign of support and unity!

Fr. Greg

Tomorrow, Pastor Rick Warren will speak in the morning. There will be additional seminars in the afternoon, as well as the work the Delegates have before then in approving the Canons.
